Nobody planned it. A sign, a wheel, and the right amount of haze turned one corner into the most photographed twenty metres in the city.
Why it is everywhere right now
The spot does the work a preset used to do. The light is already saturated, the depth is already there, and the picture looks edited straight out of the camera — so the post costs nothing to make and reads as effort.
When the location does the grading, the queue is the app.
What comes next
The wheel will get boring, the way every background eventually does. What lasts is the habit: people now pick where they stand the way they used to pick a filter.
